Hardware
Approved fastener and hardware libraries, placement, stack-ups, and BOM-accurate callouts in Creo.
Hardware helps teams specify, place, and govern fasteners and related hardware in Creo assemblies. It wraps PTC Intelligent Fastener Extension (IFX) in a CadActive-managed catalog so assemblies stay consistent and BOMs stay accurate.
CadActive does not replace Creo or IFX; it makes hardware libraries, part numbers, and placement rules easier to govern and automate.
What you can do depends on your platform tier.
What it includes
Synchronize — shared, approved libraries for bolts, nuts, washers, and related hardware instead of ad-hoc downloads or unmanaged Family Tables.
Standardize — approved lists, naming and part-number rules, model checks for non-standard fasteners, and Windchill-aware reuse of existing parts.
Automate — automated placement and stack-ups (bolt, washer, nut), callouts, and BOMs kept in sync with the model.
Hardware owns discrete components (fasteners, and later bearings, seals, inserts). Framework owns structural framing profiles.
How-tos for Hardware tools will be added here.
