Default Installation
After the installation has finished, you will need to add one line to your config.pro file.
If you are using the launcher, that line should look like this:
creotkdat $LocalAppData\CadActive\cadactive-launcher\cadactive.dat
If you are not using the launcher, the line should look like this:
creotkdat $LocalAppData\CadActive\cadactive-creo\cadactive.dat
After the config setting has been added, please restart Creo.
After restarting, you should now see a CadActive tab in the Creo ribbon! This signals that the CadActive application is fully up and running.
NOTE: Depending on the version of Creo you are running, the first time you run the CadActive application, Creo may throw a warning message: "This application is from an unknown source. Do you want to run this application, CadActive?". If this popup appears, simply select 'Do not show this again' and select OK. Alternatively, you can add the config setting "open_protk_unsigned_apps always" to your config.pro file. See this PTC Support Article for more information.
From there, Inside the CadActive tab, select the 'Login' button in the ribbon, and log in using the email and password for your CadActive account.
Additional Help - Other Installation Options
Alternatively, if you already have an existing setting for “creotk_dat”, “protk_dat”, or any other toolkit-enabling setting, you can simply copy the contents from our supplied “cadactive.dat” file into your own existing file. If you already have some other 3rd party applications, ask your Creo system administrator about how they’d like to implement the application.
Additional Help - Locating the
If you don't know what that is, or where to find it -
1) You can find your "working directory" by right-clicking on your shortcut for Creo and selecting "Properties"
2) Inside that directory, you should find a file called "config.pro". Open that file with your favorite text editor (like Notepad, Wordpad, or Notepad++).
4) If that file doesn't exist, or if you're still having trouble, you can also download an example config.pro file here - we've already added the required information for you :-)
