Adding Bends in CadActive Piping

Modified on Thu, 5 Nov, 2020 at 10:27 AM

If your organization uses bends within your pipelines, you'll want to include this information in your spec-driven library. Luckily, with RsysConfig this is very straightforward.

Instructional Steps

Once you have created a pipe family and want to add bends to it, navigate to that pipe within the Pipes section of the web-application. Either click on the three buttons all the way to the right of the Pipe and select "Manage Bends" (shown below)

OR

click into the Pipe and select the "Bends" button at the top (shown below)

Once you get to the Bends section, you'll want to select "Add New", give your pipe bend a name - we recommend "<Pipe Name> - Bends" as a default name. Once you have created it, you can begin filling out your bends based on a pipe size (shown below).

CadActive requires only the Size, Radius, Minimum Radius, Maximum Radius, Minimum Angle, and Maximum Angle. We recommend matching the Radius and the Minimum Radius values, using a value of 10 x Minimum Radius for the Maximum Radius, a Minimum Angle of 0, and a Maximum Angle of 360. For more information, see PTC's documentation (here).
