ECAD

ECAD/MCAD collaboration: keep board outlines, components, and placements synchronized in Creo.

ECAD is the collaboration layer between electrical board design and mechanical design in Creo. CadActive does not replace your ECAD authoring tool or Creo; it makes board exchange, review, and validation repeatable.

What you can do depends on your platform tier.

What it includes

  • Synchronize — managed board outlines, components, holes, keep-in/keep-out regions, and exchange packages so electrical and mechanical teams work from one definition.

  • Standardize — templates, naming, placement and clearance checks, and review workflows so ECAD changes surface before they become integration problems.

  • Automate — automated import, compare, update, and reporting of board data (when licensed).

ECAD owns board-level ECAD/MCAD exchange. Cabling owns routed wires and harnesses. Schematics owns 2D logical diagrams.

How-tos for ECAD tools will be added here.
