Framework is the managed catalog for Creo Advanced Framework Extension (AFX). It helps teams maintain structural profile libraries, sizes, connectors, equipment, and generated AFX resources instead of editing fragile AFX files by hand.
CadActive does not replace Creo AFX; it makes AFX libraries easier to configure, publish, validate, and report on.
What you can do depends on your platform tier.
What it includes
Synchronize — centralized catalogs for profile libraries, sizes, materials, connectors, equipment, and generated AFX resource files.
Standardize — approved library structures, naming, metadata, and validation of profile tables, images, and folder layouts before deployment.
Automate — batch generation, packaging, and deployment of AFX libraries, plus framework BOMs, MTO, and weld reports.
Framework owns structural members (beams, channels, extrusions). Hardware owns discrete fasteners and related components that attach to those members.
