Framework

Managed Creo Advanced Framework (AFX) profile catalogs you maintain in the web app and download into Creo.

Framework is the managed catalog for Creo Advanced Framework Extension (AFX). CAD admins maintain structural profile libraries in the CadActive web app. Creo users download those libraries as native AFX files with Sync Framework Data, then place members with Creo AFX as usual.

CadActive does not replace Creo AFX. It does not place beams, and it does not add a Framework Automate or BOM command on the ribbon. Discrete fasteners belong to Hardware.

You need a Framework module license. What a given seat can change also depends on role (User vs Collaborator vs Admin).

Control who can download and related Framework options. See Settings for Framework.

What it includes

  • Web catalogs — the named organization catalog (default flag, unit system).

  • Web profile libraries — folders of AFX profiles, including dimensions, parameters, and size tables that become sel_list.txt and .tab files.

  • Creo Sync Framework Data — the only Framework ribbon command. It downloads those files into the AFX catalog directory. Connector and equipment libraries are not written by this download.

  • Command line — the same download as -CADACTIVE=FRAMEWORK -ACTION=SYNC_CATALOG.

Framework owns structural members (beams, channels, extrusions). Hardware owns discrete fasteners and related components that attach to those members.

Activity for Framework operations also appears under Framework → Model Events in the web app. That list is an activity log, not a modeling command.

Settings

Organization admins change Framework rows under Organization → Settings. Full list: Settings for Framework. Allow User Roles to Download Framework Data is the setting that lets the User role run Sync Framework Data.
