Piping

Piping is the managed catalog and automation layer for Creo Spec-Driven Piping. CadActive does not replace Creo Piping. It makes specs, fittings, routing, and piping deliverables easier to author, deploy, and report on.

Piping owns 3D routed piping. It is not Schematics (2D P&ID), not Cabling, and not the Hardware product. Hardware Manager on the Piping ribbon is a piping command for bolts and nuts on fittings.

Who does what

The User role can download the catalog when Allow User Roles to Download Piping Data is on. Fitting Manager and Piping AutoRouting stay Admin and Collaborator only. See Settings for Piping.

What it includes

• Catalogs (web) — organization catalogs, core elements, pipes, fittings, insulations, and bolt nuts. See Piping Catalogs.

• Specs and projects (web) — line-class specs and the projects that group them. See Piping Specs and Projects.

• Pipeline configurations (web) — approved length/end combinations used when evaluating routes. See Pipeline Configurations.

• Sync and explore (Creo) — download the catalog, activate a project, browse pipes, fittings, and configurations.

• Design in Creo — Piping Model Builder (File → New for pipe/hose assemblies), Design Manager (network, control points, configuration checks), Fitting Manager, and Hardware Manager.

• AutoRouting (Creo) — generate spec-driven pipe runs from a routing file. Admins and Collaborators.

• Reports — pipeline length, bends, catalog extracts, and organization-specific weld reports. See Piping Reports.
