Sign in to an on-premise server

How to sign in when your organization hosts the CadActive server, instead of using CadActive Cloud.

On-premise CadActive is opened at the hostname your server administrator configured. It is not app.cadactive.com.

Ask your administrator for that hostname if you do not have it. The address looks like https://cadactive.example.com.

First administrator

The first account is created from Initial Organization Setup in the Admin Console: the organization name, the administrator email, and the password set there. That person signs in at https://<hostname> and then invites everyone else.

The administrator's browser must be able to reach the website and port 3000 on that hostname. If the page loads but sign-in never finishes, ask the administrator to check port 3000. See Set the hostname and HTTPS.

Everyone else

  1. Accept the invite and sign in at https://<hostname>.

  2. Download and install the Creo client that matches your Creo version. The steps are the same as CadActive Cloud: Download the Creo client and Install the Creo client.

  3. Create a Creo license token from the dashboard so the client can sign in.

  4. Creo workstations must also reach https://<hostname>:3000.

Roles, invites, and seats are managed in the product, the same way as on CadActive Cloud. See Invite people to your organization.

Single sign-on

SSO is turned on inside the CadActive application after an administrator can sign in. It is not a setting in the Admin Console. See Set up single sign-on. The identity provider must send people back to your hostname, not to app.cadactive.com.

When sign-in is rejected

  • A message that says "Too many requests" is a temporary limit. Wait and try again. See API limits.

  • A locked account stays locked until you open the unlock email, or an organization admin unlocks it on Organization → Users. That email is sent only when the server is configured to send mail. See Unlock a user account and Send email from your server.
