Cabling Bridge Examples

Worked Cabling Bridge example: export Altium NET and HTM, convert to Neutral Wire Format, then use the NWF in Creo.

This example shows a typical Altium → Neutral Wire Format job after you know how to run the dialog. The Creo steps that are the same every time are on Cabling Bridge. File types are on Cabling Bridge Files.

Altium panel to NWF

Use this when electrical design lives in Altium and Creo Cabling needs logical data.

In Altium, export the netlist and the HTML BOM from the same project. Keep connector designations and spool names consistent with Creo library models.

In Creo, run Cabling Bridge. Select Software: Altium. Pick the NET, the HTM, and an output NWF.

Select CONVERT. Confirm Operation Complete!

Import the NWF as Creo Cabling logical data, or pass it to AutoRouting as -INPUT=PANEL-01.nwf. Place connectors first if they are not already in the equipment assembly (AutoAssemble).

Do not use internal sample dumps or machine-specific paths as customer files. Keep names like PANEL-01, J1, and 16_BLK that match your library.

What this example does not cover

  • AutoCAD Electrical XML — use Cabling Auto Routing instead of Bridge.

  • EPLAN or WSCAD conversion — not available in Cabling Bridge yet.
