Stay-Out Zone Definitions
Stay-out zones keep Cabling Auto Routing from placing route nodes inside keep-clear volumes on the harness skeleton.
A stay-out zone is a keep-clear quilt on the harness skeleton. Cabling Auto Routing finds those quilts (a local surface extrude or a copy of published geometry) and removes route sample points that fall inside the volume — but only for cables that list the zone in STAY_OUT_ZONES.
Stay-out is per cable. If a wire has no STAY_OUT_ZONES value, no stay-out quilts are used for that wire. STAY_OUT_ZONES="*" uses every collected stay-out quilt. When the parameter is present, Auto Routing shows a Stay-Out Zones row on that cable in the tree.

Create a stay-out zone
Open the harness skeleton Auto Routing is using (the
*_SKELpart in the harness assembly).Sketch a closed profile. A rectangle works. A circle, slot, or any closed shape also works.
Extrude the sketch as a surface so Creo creates a quilt (not a solid body).
Rename the feature
STAY_OUT_1. Additional zones areSTAY_OUT_2,STAY_OUT_3, and so on. Matching is case-insensitive.
You can also publish stay-out geometry from a part (for example BRKT_R) and copy it into the harness skeleton. Auto Routing treats that copy-geometry quilt as a stay-out when the copied feature name or its CADACTIVE_SRC_GEOM_NAME matches STAY_OUT_*.
The zone must be on the harness skeleton Auto Routing is using. Creating a new harness with Create Harness Asm starts from an empty skeleton, so add or copy the stay-out quilts there (or select an existing harness whose skeleton already has them).

Logical file (STAY_OUT_ZONES)
Add the parameter on the wire in XML, CSV, XLSX, or NWF, using the same wildcards as USE_PATH.
Omitted or blank: that cable ignores stay-out quilts.
*: evaluate every collected stay-out quilt.STAY_OUT_1or*KEEP_CLEAR*: only quilts whose feature name or published source name match.
How Auto Routing uses it
Auto Routing collects quilts on the harness skeleton and looks up each quilt's parent feature.
It keeps quilts whose parent name or
CADACTIVE_SRC_GEOM_NAMElooks like a stay-out.For each cable that lists
STAY_OUT_ZONES, it meshes the matching quilts and tests each USE_PATH / REQUIRE_PATH sample point.Points inside a selected zone are removed. A curve with fewer than two points left is dropped.
Shape
Stay-out is not limited to rectangles.
A closed surface extrude or copied published quilt of any sketch shape is treated as a volume.
If the quilt is not a closed volume (an open sheet), Auto Routing falls back to the feature's bounding box.
Limits
A cable with no
STAY_OUT_ZONESlist does not use stay-out quilts.Auto Routing removes nodes inside the zone. A long hop between two remaining outside nodes can still cut through the volume.
Suppressed parent features are ignored.
