Export Outputs from the Current Model

Select 3D formats and CadActive reports in Creo Auto Export, then save them on the model or run them now.

Export Outputs from the Current Model is the Creo how-to for Auto Export: open the dialog, check formats and reports, then Save and/or Run Exports. See Auto Export for what the command is.

Open Auto Export

  1. Open a part, assembly, or drawing. It must be the active model.

  2. In the CadActive ribbon, Automate group, select Auto Export.

The dialog title is AutoExport - by CadActive. The command help is: Export Outputs from the Current Model. You need an Automate license, a CadActive server session, and a model already open.

The header is: Please chose from the options below:

The body is two lists: Exports on the left and Reports on the right. File → Close dismisses the dialog (same as Cancel in the footer). Help opens CadActive support for Auto Export.

Select formats and reports

  1. In Exports, check the 3D formats to write. Labels: STEP File, IGES File, PDF Document, ACIS/SAT File, STL File, glTF 2.0 Binary (.glb).

  2. In Reports, check the CadActive reports to run. The list is whatever reports are registered in this session — it can be empty if none are loaded.

Changing a check enables Save.

If you opened a drawing, 3D export uses the first solid on that drawing. If the drawing has no solid, leave 3D formats unchecked and use reports only, or open the solid instead.

Save or run

  1. Choose Save to store the checked formats and reports on the model (including CADACTIVE_EXPORT_FORMATS). Use this before batch or a Windchill worker: Configure AutoExport on a Windchill Worker.

  2. Choose Run Exports to generate the checked 3D files and reports now. 3D files go next to the model when that folder is valid; otherwise they go to the Creo working directory. Reports use the Reporting export directory.

  3. Choose Cancel or File → Close to dismiss the dialog.

note

-ACTION=AUTO_EXPORT does not take -FORMAT=. Save in this dialog first, or set CADACTIVE_EXPORT_FORMATS on the model. To export a format from the command line without reports, use -ACTION=EXPORT_3D on Automate Command Line.
