Profile Libraries

Create and maintain AFX profile libraries, profiles, dimensions, parameters, and size tables in the web app.

Profile Libraries are the AFX profile folders your organization maintains in the CadActive web app. Each library is a folder of profiles. Each profile has a file name CadActive writes as an AFX .tab file, plus dimensions, parameters, and size tables.

This is not the same as a Framework catalog. The catalog is the named organization record (name, unit system, default). Profile libraries are the geometry standards that Sync Framework Data downloads into Creo.

You need a Framework module license. Collaborators and admins can create and edit. You still place members with Creo AFX after you sync — CadActive does not replace AFX.

Open Profile Libraries

  1. Sign in to the CadActive web app.

  2. In the left navigation, open Framework.

  3. Under Libraries, select Profile Libraries.

The header shows how many libraries you have, for example: Showing 3 Profile Libraries Total. If none exist, the table shows: No profile libraries found. Toggle archived libraries from the page options when you need to see hidden rows (the subtitle then includes archived).

Columns:

  • Name

  • Folder — the AFX folder name Sync writes under Profiles.

  • Description

Create or edit a library

  1. Select Add New, or the edit control on a row.

  2. The dialog title is Create Profile Library or Edit Profile Library.

  3. Enter Name and Folder Name (both required). Optionally set Unit System and Description.

  4. Select Save, or Cancel.

Folder Name is the directory CadActive creates under the Profiles folder when you sync. Keep it unique among libraries you intend to download together.

Archive and delete libraries

  • Archive hides the library from the normal list. Unarchive brings it back.

  • Delete opens Delete Profile Library: Are you sure you want to delete name? This action will be PERMANENT and CANNOT BE UNDONE.

Profiles in a library

Expand a library row to see its profiles. CadActive loads profiles for that library when you expand it.

From the expanded row you can add a profile, edit it, open dimensions and parameters, open size tables, archive or unarchive, or delete.

Create or edit a profile

  1. Expand the library, then add a profile (tooltip: Add new Profile to library 'name'). Or select edit on an existing profile.

  2. The dialog title is Create Profile or Edit Profile.

  3. Enter Name and File Name (both required). Optionally set Unit System and Description.

  4. Select Save.

File Name becomes the AFX profile file name (the .tab file Sync writes). Use a name AFX can load; do not include the .tab extension in the field.

Delete a profile from Delete Profile with the same permanent-delete warning as libraries.

Dimensions and parameters

Open a profile (click the name, or the list control whose tooltip is See name's dimensions/parameters) to maintain the items CadActive writes into the AFX table file.

The table mixes dimensions and parameters. Columns include Type (Parameter or Dimension), Name, Default Value, Input, and Shown.

  1. Select Add New. The dialog is What item would you like to make? Choose Dimension or Parameter.

  2. For a parameter (Create new Parameter): set Name, Value Type (Boolean, String, Number, or Integer), default value, and the Input / Shown switches.

  3. For a dimension (Create new Dimension): set Name, Default Value, and the Input / Shown switches.

  4. Save. Delete uses Delete Dimension or Delete Parameter with a permanent-delete warning.

Size tables

From a profile, open tables (tooltip: To Tables, or the tables control on a profile row). The page title is profile Tables. Empty state: No tables found.

Columns are Name and Label. A subtable row shows: subtable of parent.

  1. Select Add New. The dialog is Create Table (or Edit Table).

  2. Enter Name (required) and optional Label.

  3. Open a table to edit the rows, columns, and values that become the AFX .tab content when you sync.

Delete a table from Delete Table: Are you sure you want to delete name?

Sync to Creo

Saving in the web app does not update Creo AFX folders by itself. After you change libraries, profiles, or tables, run Sync Framework Data in Creo (Download → Sync Framework Catalog) or use Framework Command Line.
