Piping Projects
What a CadActive piping project is, how it groups specs, and how you author projects in the web app.
A piping project is a named collection of piping specs. Creo Spec-Driven Piping activates one project at a time. When a designer selects that project, they can use only the specs you attached — not the entire organization catalog.
A project is not a catalog and not a spec. The catalog is the library of pipes, fittings, and insulations. A spec is an approved combination of catalog items (a line class). A project groups the specs for a job, site, or design program. See Piping Specs and Projects for the how-to overview, and Implementing Piping Catalogs for the catalog → spec → project order.
You author projects in the CadActive web app. You need a Piping license and Admin or Collaborator access. Create piping specs first so the project has specs to attach.
Where you manage projects
Sign in to the CadActive web app.
Open Piping in the sidebar.
Under Specs, select Projects.
The list shows Name and how many specs are attached. You can show archived projects from the page header.
Project properties
Create or edit a project from the Projects list. The create dialog has one required field:

What a project contains
Open a project to attach piping specs. The edit page lists unarchived specs with:
A checkbox to include the spec in this project
Name and Mnemonic
# Pipe Instances and # Fitting Instances already assigned on that spec
Select the specs this project is allowed to use, then save. The header shows how many specs are selected. A spec can belong to more than one project.

Create, copy, archive, delete
Create, edit, copy, archive, or delete projects from the list.
You cannot delete a piping spec while it still belongs to a project. Remove it from projects first, then delete the spec.
How projects are used in Creo
Run Sync Piping Catalog and download Spec projects (or All).
Run Select Piping Project and pick this project.
Confirm it on the Projects & Specs tab in Piping Catalog Explorer, and in the current-project field in Piping Model Builder.
Routing and fitting placement then use this project’s spec-driven files. CadActive also updates the Creo path options listed on Spec-Driven Piping Configuration Settings.
