Generate a Report

Pick a CadActive report in Creo, run it on the current model, and save CSV or Excel.

Generate a Report is the Creo command that runs a CadActive report on the current model and writes a file. Command help: Chose from a list of report templates.

You need a Reporting license and a CadActive server session. Which reports appear depends on the current model type and which modules are loaded. The shipped Reporting reports are on Standard reports. Piping and Cabling reports stay on those products.

Open Generate a Report

  1. Open the part, assembly, or drawing you want to report on.

  2. In the CadActive ribbon, select Generate a Report.

The dialog title is Select a Report. The header is: Please chose from the options below:

  1. Use Select a Report: to pick the report.

  2. Choose Ok. Cancel closes the dialog without running a report.

The list only includes reports that are valid for the current model. For example, Drawing Table Report appears when a drawing is current; Mass - Center of Gravity Report appears when an assembly is current.

Save the file

Most reports then open Save Output File. Pick the folder and file name. The default extension follows Settings for Reporting (Default Report Format). Common choices are Excel (.xlsx) and CSV.

Drawing Table Report does not use that save dialog. It writes one text or CSV file per drawing table next to the drawing (or in the Creo working directory if the drawing path is not valid). Details: Drawing Table Report.

While CadActive collects data, the progress text is: Processing Models...

After the report runs

On success CadActive shows Export Successful! and the output path, then: Would you like to view the results?

  • Yes opens the file (or the folder, for Drawing Table Report).

  • No leaves the file on disk.

If something fails, CadActive reports that it could not generate the named report.
