CadActive for Creo Schematics
CadActive is a Creo Schematics plugin: how it loads, then download, install, sign in, and collect logs.
CadActive for Creo Schematics is a plugin that runs inside PTC Creo Schematics. It does not replace Creo Schematics, and it is not a standalone program you start yourself. Creo hosts CadActive Java and shows CadActive commands on the ribbon.
What you can do depends on your contract: a platform tier, plus the Schematics module if you purchased it. See Understand your CadActive licenses and the Schematics module overview.
This is a different product from CadActive for Creo Parametric. The Parametric zip, config.pro / creotkdat registration, and dashboard Creo License Token do not apply here.
How it loads in Creo Schematics
Creo Schematics loads CadActive Java from CLIENT_CLASSPATH in schematics.psf (an ordinary Java classpath: directories and/or .jar files). Custom Java shortcuts and a ribbon .ui file place the CadActive tab and buttons. Java code runs when you use a CadActive command (for example Log In), not merely because the ribbon is drawn.
You also need a Java 17 (or later) JRE on the workstation. Creo Schematics does not install Java; PTC documents setting PRO_JAVA_COMMAND to your JRE.
If Creo Schematics itself will not launch, start with PTC Support instead — that is not a CadActive issue.
