Add ECAD Component Notes
Place catalog Component Notes on ECAD components in a Creo drawing view.
Add ECAD Component Notes places Standardize catalog notes of type Component Note on components in a drawing view of the ECAD board. Author those notes in the web app first. See Note Management.
The command is available with a drawing active. The dialog title is Add Notes to ECAD Components - by CadActive.
This is not Note Builder and not Add ECAD Area Notes. Area notes use type Ecad Area Note on keep-in / keep-out features.
Open Add ECAD Component Notes
Open the board drawing in Creo.
On the CadActive ribbon, in the ECAD group, select Add ECAD Component Notes.
Place notes
Set Desired View (Select View). The view must include a valid ECAD board assembly—not only the board part.
Confirm ECAD Board Model.
Use Filter Items if you need a subset of components.
In the table, review Status, Ref Des, Model Name, Type, and Applied Note. Check the rows to update. Use Check All when every row should receive a note.
Choose the Applied Note for each checked row from the catalog Component Notes.
Select Show Settings if you want Filter Only Visible Components (components on the predominantly visible board side).
Select OK.
Create Note for ECAD Zero
On the Tools menu, select Create Note for ECAD Zero to place (or refresh) the drawing note for the board zero coordinate system. If the view already has that note, the command updates its text. When no matching catalog note exists, CadActive writes the zero name and X:0.00 Y:0.00.
