Finding a PTC License Feature Name
How to find the license feature name FlexNet and PTC applications use to request a specific license or extension.
A license feature name is the identifier used by PTC applications and FlexNet to request a specific license or extension.
You may need to find a feature name when:
Troubleshooting a licensing error
Reviewing which licenses are available on a FlexNet server
Configuring Creo startup licenses or extensions
Comparing your Creo configuration against the licenses your organization owns
For example, a feature name may look similar to:
PROE_DesignEss
The exact feature names available to your organization depend on the PTC products and licenses you own.
PTC Manage Licensing
For CAD administrators with access to PTC License Management, the easiest place to review your organization's current licenses is the PTC Manage Licensing application.
On the Product Licenses page, the Feature Name column can be added to the table using the personalization options. You can also filter the page by feature name.
Note: PTC's older License Management web tool has been retired. Manage Licensing is now PTC's primary location for licensing activities.
License File
If you already have a PTC license file, the feature names can also be viewed directly within the file.
Open the license file using a text editor and in the Summary Table the feature names can be found.

FlexNet Server / PTCSTATUS
If your organization already has a PTC FlexNet License Server running, you can also use the PTCSTATUS utility to view the licenses currently available from the server.
PTCSTATUS displays information such as:
License feature names
Number of licenses in use
Number of licenses available
License version and expiration information
A typical output may include entries similar to:
wide1800trueThis can be especially useful when troubleshooting because it shows what the license server is actually providing rather than only what appears in your PTC entitlement information.
Which Method Should I Use?
For most CAD administrators:
Manage Licensing — Best for reviewing the licenses your organization owns
License File — Best for quickly identifying feature names from an existing license
PTCSTATUS — Best for seeing which licenses are currently being provided by your FlexNet server
If you are troubleshooting a “No Such Feature Exists” licensing error, the feature name reported in the error can also be compared against these sources to determine whether the requested license is actually available.
