Note Contents
Define typed placeholders (note contents) in a Standardize Note body so engineers can fill them in Note Builder.
Note contents are typed placeholders owned by a catalog Note. You define them in the Note dialog in the web app. Engineers fill them in Note Builder. Session values persist on the model so the next open can reuse them.
A note content is not a Note Block and not a Creo feature. Membership and placement stay on the Note Block. See Note Management for how Notes, note contents, profiles, and blocks fit together.
Open note contents
Sign in to the CadActive web app.
In the left navigation, open Standardize.
Under Model Details, select Notes.
Create a Note, copy one, or select the edit action on a row.
Go to Note Body. The note contents list sits beside the body editor.
Save a new Note (or a copy) before you add note contents. Until it is persisted, there is no Note id to attach placeholders to. The add control shows Save before adding content until then.

Create or edit a note content
Select Create Note Content, then choose a type.
Set a default (and list options, when the type is List). Parameter contents pick a Creo parameter from the Parameter Management catalog.
Save. Dialog titles match the type, for example Create Text Note Content or Edit List Note Content.
Insert the placeholder into the note body. It appears as a chip in the editor (for example
1: My Default).
Hover help on the type buttons:
Text — A sequence of characters and can contain letters, numbers, symbols and spaces. Example: 'Hello, World!'
Number — A numeric value, appearing as a number to CAD users. Example: 3.14159
List — A list of selectable text values, appearing as a dropdown to CAD users.
Type | What it is |
|---|---|
Text | Free string. Set a Default Value. |
Number | Numeric default (decimal allowed). |
List | 1–100 options. The default must be one of them. |
Parameter | A Creo parameter from the Parameters catalog. Label in the dialog: Parameter. |
Date | Date default. |
Fill values in Creo
In Note Builder, after you pick a Model Template and Note Block, fill Note Content placeholders (text, number, list, date, or parameter). CadActive stores those session values on the model so the next Note Builder open can reuse them.
What note contents are not
Replacement tokens such as
<%MODEL_NAME%>are typed in the note body as plain text. They are not note contents. See Note Builder.Note contents do not place a note on a drawing. Place the block with Note Builder, or apply the Model Template that uses the profile.
There is no separate Note Contents catalog page. Contents live on the Note they belong to.
