Notes

Create and edit the Standardize Notes catalog: name, type, and note body.

A Note is an organization-scoped catalog entry: name, type, and note body. Maintain the catalog in the CadActive web app. A catalog row does not land on a drawing by itself — add it to a Note Block on a Note Profile, then attach that profile to a Model Template (or place the block in Note Builder).

Typed placeholders in the body are Note Contents. See Note Management for how Notes, note contents, profiles, and blocks fit together.

Open Notes

  1. Sign in to the CadActive web app.

  2. In the left navigation, open Standardize.

  3. Under Model Details, select Notes.

The list shows Name, Note Type, Note Body (preview), and Description. You can filter those columns and export the list to CSV.

Create, copy, or delete

  • Create — opens Create Note. Set identity and body, then save.

  • Copy — opens Create Copy of ‘…’ from an existing row. Save the copy first; you can add note contents after it has an id.

  • Edit — opens Edit ‘…’ on that row.

  • Delete permanently removes the catalog Note. Confirm carefully — this cannot be undone. Removing a Note from a Note Block does not delete the catalog row.

There is no archive on Notes.

Create or edit a Note

  1. Create a new Note, copy an existing one, or select the edit action on a row.

  2. Under Note Details, set Name (required, 255 characters or fewer).

  3. Set Note Type (required):

    1. General Note — used in Note Profiles and Note Builder.

    2. Component Note — used with Add Notes to Components in Creo.

    3. Ecad Area Note — ECAD area annotation only. Not used in Note Builder or Note Profile blocks.

  4. Set Description if you want a note for other admins.

  5. Under Note Body, type the standard text. Insert note contents as placeholders in the body.

  6. Save.

What the catalog does not do

  • A Note by itself does not create a Creo feature. Membership is on a Note Block.

  • There is no archive. Delete only when the definition should leave the organization catalog.

  • Ecad Area Notes are not for Note Builder. Component Notes are for Add Notes to Components, not for profile blocks you place as drawing annotations.

  • You can seed Notes from Creo with Apply Model Template → Tools → Add Current To Database (upload type Notes). Then refine them here. See Apply Model Templates.
