Pipeline Configurations

Author approved pipeline configurations in the web app for length, ends, and related piping data.

A pipeline configuration is a named, often approved combination of pipe instance, finished length, end fittings, and optional extras. CadActive uses it to check whether a routed pipeline in Creo matches an allowed configuration.

Author configurations in the web app under Piping → DesignsPipeline Configurations. Browse them in Creo from Piping Catalog Explorer (Pipeline Configurations tab). Evaluate them against a model from Piping Design Manager.

Open Pipeline Configurations

  1. Sign in to the CadActive web app.

  2. Open PipingPipeline Configurations.

The table lists configurations for your organization. You can filter, sort, copy, create, edit, delete, and download CSV. Import CSV to load many rows at once.

What it is

Configuration part number

Required. The identifier written to the pipeline (the organization setting Pipeline Configuration Parameter Name, default PART_NUMBER).

Final length

Required. Target finished length. Length compare uses the organization length and under-length tolerances.

Pipe instance

Required. Which catalog pipe instance this configuration uses.

Fitting ends

End-fitting identifiers on the configuration.

Additional components

Extra component identifiers that belong with this configuration.

Additional parameters

Name/value parameters used when deciding uniqueness. Which names count is the organization setting Pipeline Configuration Additional Parameter Names.

Insulation

Optional insulation instance.

Project

Optional piping project this configuration belongs to.

Approved

Whether the configuration is approved, who approved it, and when.

Create or edit

  1. Select New or open a row.

  2. Fill configuration part number, final length, and pipe instance.

  3. Add fitting ends, additional components, insulation, and project as needed.

  4. Mark approved when the configuration is released for designers.

  5. Save. Unsaved uniqueness collisions (same part number or overlapping length/ends) should be resolved before designers evaluate models against the list.

In Creo

  • Piping Catalog Explorer — Pipeline Configurations tab to browse and filter.

  • Piping Design Manager — evaluate pipeline configurations on the current piping assembly.

  • Temporary names in Creo use the organization prefix (default TEMP_CONFIGURATION_) until a real part number is assigned.
