Sync Piping Catalog

Download (or, for admins, upload) the CadActive piping catalog and spec projects in Creo.

Sync Piping Catalog copies piping catalog files between the CadActive server and the Creo session. Command help: Sync the Piping Catalog from the Server.

You need a Piping license and a CadActive server session. Whether the User role can open this command is the organization setting Allow User Roles to Download Piping Data (on by default). Admins and Collaborators can always open it.

Open Sync Piping Catalog

  1. In Creo, open the CadActive ribbon.

  2. In the Piping group, select Sync Piping Catalog.

The same command is on the Tools menu in Piping Catalog Explorer.

Download

On the download tab, pick what to pull, then select Download Data. CadActive warns before it overwrites files already on disk.

The organization piping catalog (pipes, fittings, insulations, and related files).

Project folders so Select Piping Project has something to activate.

If your organization uses CadActive Schematics with piping, you can also include the schematics library on download. The default is off. Command-line sync never downloads schematics files.

When Only Sync Validated Fittings is on, download skips fitting models that have not been validated in Creo first. See Settings for Piping.

Upload and extract (admins)

Upload is for CadActive and organization admins who push local catalog files back to the server. The upload tab is hidden for everyone else.

  • Upload Data — master catalog, spec projects, or all, from the selected directory.

  • Extract from model — Admins only, and only when a model is open. Reads catalog data out of the current model.

Admins and Collaborators can also change the piping directory CadActive writes into. Users cannot.

Command line

Batch download uses Piping Command Line with -ACTION=SYNC_CATALOG. That path downloads the master catalog only — no overwrite prompt, no spec projects, no schematics library.
