Piping Design Manager

Inspect the piping network in the current assembly, evaluate configurations, and add routing control points.

Piping Design Manager shows the piping network in the current model. Command help: View the details of the Piping Network.

You need a Piping license and a solid model that already contains piping designs. If none are found, CadActive reports that the current assembly is not a piping assembly.

Open Piping Design Manager

  1. Open the piping assembly in Creo.

  2. On the CadActive ribbon, select Piping Design Manager.

The tree lists piping designs, pipelines, segments, and fittings. Select a node to inspect it. You can save the tree and export it to a spreadsheet from the File menu.

Tools on the network

From the Tools menu you can:

  • Evaluate pipeline configurations — compare pipelines in the model with the configurations authored in the web app.

  • Publish pipe solids — available when Standardize is licensed for the seat.

  • Pipeline welds — evaluate welds, create a weld part, reset welds, or save a weld report (the weld report itself is organization-specific; see Piping Reports).

Add a control point

Use control points when the route needs an extra vertex that Creo Spec-Driven Piping can follow.

  • Ribbon: Piping Routing - Add Control Point (same Piping group).

  • Inside Design Manager: add a control point to the end of a route, or add one on a segment.

  1. Select the pipeline or segment in the tree (or start from the ribbon command).

  2. Choose add to end or add to segment.

  3. Pick the location in the graphics window.

Control points stay on the piping design so later routing and AutoRouting can reuse them.
