Piping Catalogs
Build and maintain the organization piping catalog in the CadActive web app — catalogs, core elements, pipes, fittings, and bolt nuts.
Piping Catalogs is where CAD admins author the piping library that Creo consumes. You define catalogs and the data they contain in the web app, then designers download that library in Creo with Sync Piping Catalog.
You need a Piping license and a role that can edit organization data (Admin or Collaborator). Designers who only consume the catalog in Creo do not need to use these pages.
Open Piping in the web app
Sign in to the CadActive web app.
Open Piping in the sidebar.
The Piping sidebar is grouped as Catalogs, Core Elements, Piping Catalog, Specs, Designs, and Activity. Specs and pipeline configurations have their own articles.
Catalogs
Open Catalogs. Each catalog has a name, description, and unit system. Create, edit, or delete catalogs from the table. One catalog is the current catalog for your organization — that is the library Creo downloads.
Use the catalog record to set the default unit system for piping sizes, diameters, and thicknesses. Change it only when you intend every seat to work in those units.
Core Elements
Core Elements are the shared lists that pipes and fittings reference. Author them before you add families.

Fitting Categories | How fittings are grouped in specs and explorers (elbow, tee, flange, and so on). |
End Types | Port end types (butt weld, socket weld, flanged, and so on). |
Materials | Material codes used on pipes, fittings, and specs. |
Piping Catalog
These pages hold the actual library items that specs pick from.

Pipes | Pipe families and instances (size, schedule, diameter, thickness, stock number). Open a family to add instances, bends, miters, bend machines, and springbacks. |
Fittings | Fitting families and instances (selection name, fitting code, category, material, bolt-nut code, port sizes and end types, model name). Open a family to add instances. |
Insulations | Insulation families and instances used with specs and pipeline configurations. |
Bolt Nuts | Bolt and nut families that Hardware Manager uses on fittings in Creo. This is piping catalog hardware, not the separate Hardware product. |
On a family page you can create, edit, copy, and delete. Many catalogs also accept a CSV import for bulk load — download the template from the page, fill it, and upload.
After you change the catalog
Save the records in the web app.
In Creo, run Sync Piping Catalog so seats pick up the new files.
Use Piping Catalog Explorer to confirm pipes, fittings, and insulations are visible.
