Piping AutoRouting
Generate spec-driven pipe routes in Creo from a routing file, equipment, and an output assembly.
Piping AutoRouting creates pipe routing automatically from a routing file and selected equipment. Command help: Create Pipe Routing Automatically.
You need a Piping license and an Admin or Collaborator role. The User role cannot run this command. The current model must be an assembly. There is no Piping AutoRouting command line — Piping Command Line only syncs the catalog.
This is not Cabling Auto Routing. Piping AutoRouting builds 3D spec-driven pipe runs; cabling routes wires and cables.
Before you start
Sync the piping catalog and activate the spec project those routes should use.
Have a routing file (the AutoRouting input) that lists routes, spools, and connectors.
Open an assembly that can hold the new piping, or be ready to pick one as the output model.
Equipment models in the session should already have the connectors the routing file names.
Open Piping AutoRouting
Open an assembly in Creo.
On the CadActive ribbon, select Piping AutoRouting.
If no assembly is current, the command does not run. OK stays disabled until the required inputs are filled.
Run AutoRouting
On the From File tab, choose the routing file when prompted. If CadActive cannot open it, it reports that it could not open the routing file.
Select the equipment installation (the assembly that owns the connectors).
Select the output piping assembly (where routes are created).
Select OK. CadActive collects connectors, allocates routes from the file, and builds spec-driven pipe runs, including fittings and bends the spec allows.
Cancel aborts without creating routes.
After it runs
Inspect the new pipelines in Piping Design Manager. Check lengths, bends, and configurations against Pipeline Configurations. Use Piping Reports for length and bend extracts.
